MyHeritage: Look-alike Meter - Family tree template - Geneology
Sunday, March 30, 2008
So this was our Sunday activity. Eric and I picked these pictures to upload for this look-alike meter. As you can see, Ryan looks more like Eric in the first comparison. However, Eric wasn't completely satisfied with these results. He wanted the percentage to be even higher, so he decided to try the comparison again with a different picture of Ryan. He chose what he thought would be the perfect photo; Ryan's hair is a little longer and more unruly, and Eric thought for sure this would move the meter more in his direction. However, funny enough, the program determined that Ryan looked more like me! Hahaha. So which meter do you think is correct?

HAPPY EASTER!!

With the weather here in Wisconsin, it was a little hard to feel like it was really time for Easter. Just two days ago we got over a foot of snow (about 14 inches)! It was very depressing because prior to this most recent storm, the majority of the snow and ice from previous storms had melted and Spring was nearly in sight. However, now it feels like we're back to winter again. This winter season just moved into 2nd place for the most snowfall in Milwaukee history (and they have been keeping record since the 1800s). Needless to say, I'm pretty determined that we need to go some place warm for residency...these long, cold winters are doing me in!!

We had a very nice day today. We had a relaxing morning, and then we went to church and enjoyed the choir who put on a wonderful sacrament meeting. It was so nice to feel the spirit and be reminded what our Savior has done for us. We are so grateful for his sacrifice so we can all live again!

Ryan's 3rd Hair Cut
As you can tell from previous posts Ryan's hair was starting to get a little long. I've known that it needed a trim but I've been putting it off because I want Ryan to still look like a baby. Well, when I was at work yesterday Eric decided to start cutting his hair. When I got home he was in the middle of it, so I helped finish. I've been told he looks like a little man many times...but now he really looks it.

Wednesday Ryan had an echo to see if the hole in his heart had gotten smaller. Thankfully, the Cardiologist was pleased that it indeed got smaller. He said it measures around 3-4 mm. A couple weeks prior to his echo appointment we met with the cardiologist and he didn't sound very hopeful. He made it sound like Ryan would need surgery sooner than what we had originally planned. Although the left side of his heart is still enlarged we were happy to hear his heart was functioning properly, and his heart would repair itself once the whole is closed. We keep hoping and praying it will close on it's own. However, if it doesn't by the time he's one the chances of it closing on its own is so minimal he will have surgery the end of June.

Today I purchased an exercise ball. As I was pumping it up I was thinking that it was such a great buy because a) I'll be able to get a great workout and b)I figured Ryan would probably think it was cool too. However, much to my surprise, I got Ryan from his room after taking a nap and he was completely petrified of the ball. I tried to show him what it could do by rolling it and bouncing it a bit but that only made things worse. He started shaking, crying and wouldn't let me put him down. Initially I thought it was a little humorous so I thought I would document it with a picture. But I couldn't get him to let go of me, let alone get him to sit by the ball long enough to take a picture. I realized the only way I was going to get a picture was to hold him by it and as you can tell he still didn't like that. I kept thinking that he'd realize that he had nothing to worry about but after 15 minutes of him hugging my neck and panting I finally decided I had to hide the ball in the back bedroom. I may not get much use out of it after all. At least while he's awake, we'll see.

Last Friday Ryan had his 9-month checkup. I was glad he had this appointment because Ryan had been sick with the flu since late Wednesday night. The doctor said that Ryan should start feeling better before too long. His stats are: 27'5" long (25%), 14lb 4 oz. (<3%)for weight. I was a little dishearted since he only gained about a pound and a half since his 6-month checkup. Hopefully he'll be able to put on more weight now that he can keep his food down.

Eric + Mitt

This afternoon I was having lunch with a few of my girl friends and the topic of politics came up. That is when I realized that Eric and I have never posted anything about Mitt Romney. For those of you who know Eric well, or live close by, you already know Eric's passion for politics...especially for Mitt. Even though Eric's schedule may be vigorous there is always time for Mitt. That is on, "Evangelicals for Mitt" (it's a web page Eric came across and ever since reads daily). Eric even thought it was a good idea to put that web page on my computer settings. So each time I'd go to check my email I was welcomed by Mitt. To further show his devotion, a few days ago I found out he gave some money to Mitt's campaign. I'm sure you can imagine how thrilled I was. Anyway, that said, we're rooting for Mitt.

Happy Halloween!!
Kristi had the opportunity to fly out to Utah to visit family. Unfortunately Eric couldn't go because he was in the middle of tests. It was a pretty eventful week-and-a-half for Kristi's family. Kristi's little brother gave his talk in church prior to leaving for his mission to Kentucky. Kristi's side of the family had a Halloween party that unfortunately got interrupted with an emergency. As a result, Kristi didn't get many pictures from the party (only 1). It was also fun for Kristi to spend the evening with Eric's side of the family the night before Halloween.
